My daughter has been discriminated against due to her sexual orientation, even amongst family members. She told me a couple years ago about her sexual preference and it has been extremely difficult watching her suffer in shame and embarrassment due to comments others have said directly to her or behind her back since coming out. She’s an extremely loving and caring individual and I’m afraid that may fade if she continues to be treated cruelly.

I think it’s easy for someone to “judge” when they do not fully understand. I didn’t fully understand at first, but I chose to as I would do anything for my children. I also think if others truly saw how they deeply affected another life, they would think twice about their choice of words and their actions.
