February 6th, 2011 was the day heaven gained an angel; my grandfather.
My grandfather was not your typical grandfather. He was a ‘young’ soul, full of life, had the loudest belly laugh. He was my best friend. Just 11 days before he died, he was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. We were told that there was nothing the doctors could do; quickly we realized we had an extremely short amount of time to say goodbye.
We brought him home and made him comfortable. My family and I looked after him 24/7 for his last days. It broke my heart watching him slowly deteriorate. I miss and love him each and every day. People say it gets easier, but it doesn't. You just learn how to live with it and try to cherish the good times. xx - Catherine, IN
